Band Contest

Another fabulous night of live Blues this year at the Iowa Blues Challenge Finals! Congratulations to The Steady Rollin’ Blues Band, winners of the 2010 Iowa Blues Challenge held May 22nd at the Downtown Marriott in Des Moines. The band received a cash prize plus travel expenses to Memphis as our local representative at the International Blues Challenge in January 2011. The Steady Rollin’ Blues Band also receives studio time from Junior’s Motel, several paid gigs including the Mississippi Valley Blues Fest, and more.

Finals were held Saturday, May 22 2010 at the Downtown Marriott in Des Moines at 8:30 PM. The finalists were:

  • Trouble No More
  • Bob Pace Band featuring Steve E. George
  • Bella Soul Blues Revolution featuring Tina Haase Findlay
  • Stoney Ground
  • The Steady Rollin’ Blues Band

For the 17th year, the Central Iowa Blues Society, in cooperation with the Mississippi Valley Blues Society and Lizard Creek Blues Society, presents the 2010 Iowa Blues Challenge. This contest is open to any Blues band that has not been nominated for a Blues Music Award.

The Iowa Blues Challenge features one of the finest prize packages, for a contest of this kind, in the country. Prizes are awarded to the top bands, including—cash, travel expenses, recording time, as well as spots in the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival in Davenport, IA, BBQ’Loo & Blues Too in Waterloo, IA, Cityview’s Bike Ride and Blues in the Park and the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
