2012 Iowa Blues Hall of Fame Induction – 7pm
Founded in 1999, the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame mission is to recognize and honor our Iowa Blues heritage. We are proud to induct 4 performer inductees and 1 non performer this year to the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees include Des Moines’ own Bob Pace and Scott Cochran, Billylee Janey, Gary Gibson and Jim DeKoster. Former Iowa Blues Hall of Fame inductees George Davis and Gil Davis will lead the host band Sumpin’ Doo with each of the inductees joining in after their induction.

Raise The Roof – Featuring Tommy Castro – 10PM
Since 1980, the Blues Foundation has been inducting individuals, recordings and literature into the Blues Hall of Fame, but until now there has not been a physical Blues Hall of Fame. Establishing a Blues Hall of Fame enhances one of the founding programs of The Blues Foundation. The “Raise the Roof” campaign calls for up to $3.5 million to create a Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis. It will be the place to: honor inductees year-round; listen to and learn about the music; and enjoy historic mementos of this all-American art form. The new Blues Music Hall of Fame will be the place for serious Blues fans, casual visitors, and wide-eyed students. It will facilitate audience development and membership growth. It will expose, enlighten, educate, and entertain.
And CIBS wants to be in on all the excitement of seeing that this happens. Get more information about The Blues Foundation and the upcoming Blues Hall of Fame HERE>>
Following the induction ceremony at 10 PM will be multi Blues Music Award winner for Entertainer of the Year and a Des Moines favorite, Tommy Castro & the Painkillers. A donation of $15 will be taken at the door and additional donations and pledges can be made at any time throughout the night. All collected donations will go to the “Raise the Roof” campaign.
