Hours: Gates open at 3:00, Music Starts at 3:30 and goes until around 10:30.

Tickets: $15 per day or 2 day tickets available in advance only if purchased by Aug 26 for just $25. (After the 26th tickets available at Blues On Grand or at the Living History Farms General Store. Kids under 12 (when accompanied by an adult) get in free, and your ticket is good for reduced admission to Living History Farms.

Location: Living History Farms in Urbandale, Iowa. It’s just minutes from downtown Des Moines with easy access from I-80 and I-35

Additional Info: Bring your lawn chairs but no umbrellas, pets, coolers or tents. Food and beverages will be available on site. The Fest will have a harmonica workshop presented by Frank Freight-Train Strong each day from 5-6pm.

The name Living History comes from the location that the fest will be held. Founded in 1970, the Living History Farms is a 500-acre, outdoor museum that recreates history and lifestyles in four time periods – the 1700 Ioway Indians, the 1850 pioneers, the townspeople of 1875 and 1900 farmers. Your ticket is good for reduced admission to Living History Farms.

Fest Lodging: Special room rates for the Heart of America Living History Blues Fest are available. Just tell them you are coming for the Blues Fest.
