Deepest Sympathy
CIBS sends our deepest sympathy to our fellow Board member Deb Bodson on the recent tragic death of her son and CIBS member Ian Bodson. Ian was killed in a weather related car accident in Taos, New Mexico on December 30, 2010. Please keep Deb and her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go thru this most difficult time.

General Membership Meeting
Our next General Meeting is scheduled for February 14, 2011 at our corporate sponsor Zimm’s Food & Spirits, 3124 Ingersoll, at 7 PM. We will be in the back room. Please make plans to attend to share your thoughts and concerns with your CIBS Board. Board Elections will be held at this meeting. It is Valentine’s Day so bring your sweetie and join the fun. We’ll save you seat.
2011 Iowa Blues Challenge
Blues Bands—are you ready for the Challenge???……Applications are ready on online at www.cibs.org for bands for the next all Iowa Blues Bands Challenge with the deadline being March 5, 2011. The format this year will again depends on the number of bands involved.
The date for the round for the Quad Cities will be April 5, 2011 at Muddy Waters in Bettendorf. The rounds in Des Moines will be April 7 and April 14 at Zimm’s. A third round will be added, if necessary. The Finals will be held May 7, 2011 at the Downtown Marriott.
Helping us sponsor this event this year are Mississippi Valley Blues Society, Lizard Creek Blues Society, Budweiser, KGGO/98.3 WOW, Junior’s Motel, Rieman Music, Zimm’s Food & Spirits and Cityview. .
