Winter Blues Fest Lineup Announced

TWO NIGHTS—20 Acts… all under one roof and out of the cold!

Advance Tickets $45 Weekend Pass – or – $20/Friday and $30/Saturday
At the door admission goes up $5. CIBS Members receive $5 rebate on Weekend Pass only. You may collect your rebate at the merchandise booth on the 3rd Floor.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

There are a limited number of volunteer opportunities available for the 2022 Winter Blues Fest! Each volunteer shift is two hours for tasks such as wristband check, ticketing, info desk, load in/out.

VOLUNTEER = FREE ADMISSION for the night of your shift!

Iowa Blues Hall of Fame News

CIBS is currently searching for a new home for the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame exhibit. CIBS was asked to remove the IBHOF exhibit from the Hawkeye Elks Lodge in November and it is now currently safe in storage. We have some ideas we’re working on and will keep you in the loop when something comes available.

The Iowa Blues Hall of Fame exhibit was originally housed at Blues on Grand until its closing in 2010. The exhibit was rededicated in its next home at the Hawkeye Elks Lodge in September 2014 until it’s removal in November of 2021. A portable exhibit is available for travel to events all across Iowa.

The Central Iowa Blues Society was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 1992 by 200 blues lovers. Our mission is to keep the blues alive through celebration, preservation, and education. We endeavor to increase awareness of and appreciation for blues music by providing a network of association for blues enthusiasts. We recognize and honor our Iowa blues heritage through the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame program. We celebrate blues performance by promoting numerous concerts throughout the year including the Winter Blues Fest and the Iowa Blues Challenge. We strive to educate and ensure the future of the blues through Blues in the Schools.

Central Iowa Blues Society received The Blues Foundation’s Keeping the Blues Alive Award in 2016. Each year, The Blues Foundation presents the Keeping the Blues Alive (KBA) Awards to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Blues around the world.
