Blues Before Sunset will be Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the Grand Terrace of the State Historical Building, 600 E. Locust, Des Moines. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public. Baratta’s restaurant will have beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages for sale; food and soft drinks will be provided by Fat Tuesday Cajun Restaurant.

Soul Searchers is a hard-swinging blues band that plays more than 100 dates a year throughout Iowa and the Midwest. Guitarist/singer Scott Eggleston, bassist Erich Gaukel, pianist/organist Neil Stoffregen and drummer Chandler Bowerman will play originals and lesser-known music by greats like Freddie King, Muddy Waters, Little Walter and Lazy Lester, The Soul Searchers have shared the stage with such names as Pinetop Perkins, RJ Mischo and Curtis Salgado. The band has won the Iowa Blues Challenge, has appeared at the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival and has been featured on Iowa Public Television’s “Living In Iowa” program.
