Music styles that originated in the United States during the twentieth century are the subject of America’s Music 2, a series of programs running on four consecutive Tuesdays beginning September 9 at 6 pm at the Franklin Avenue Library. The Broadway, Latin, blues, and rock genres will be spotlighted. Each program of this music survey begins with the showing of selected film clips, which then receive expert analysis from Drake musicology professor Dr. Eric Saylor, followed by lively audience discussion. Preregistration is required and participants are expected to attend all programs.  For more information: (515) 283-4152 or www.dmpl.org.  Funding provided by Friends of the Franklin Avenue Library.
