Blues & BBQ Smokehouse Dinner
Covered Bridges Winery, 2207 170th Dr, Winterset, IA

Covered Bridges Winery and the Central Iowa Blues Society are hosting the first annual Blues & BBQ Smokehouse Dinner benefitting the CIBS Blues Music Education (BluesME) programs. The event is Saturday, November 12th at Covered Bridges Winery doors open at 6:30pm with buffet dinner beginning at 7:00pm. Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. Seating is limited.

Dinner includes burnt ends, pulled pork, bunkhouse baked beans, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, corn bread, sweet potato pie and pecan pie. Music by Arteamus Crow and featuring Scott Eggleston of the Soul Searchers.

An American Oak bourbon barrel used to age Covered Bridges Winery reserve red wine is the smoking wood for this special dinner. The bourbon and red wine infused wood adds a mild, unique flavor with hints of vanilla, clove, anise and fruitiness. The meats are rubbed with Pub Rub – Dive Bar before the journey to the smoker. This unique dinner is sure to please!

Smoking Chunks and Pub Rub-Dive Bar will be available for sale with proceeds supporting Blues in the Schools. Sponsored by Covered Bridges Winery, Central Iowa Blues Society, Hy-Vee and Park Fair Ace Hardware

The Central Iowa Blues Society was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 1992 by 200 blues lovers. Our mission is to keep the blues alive through celebration, preservation, and education. We endeavor to increase awareness of and appreciation for blues music by providing a network of association for blues enthusiasts. We recognize and honor our Iowa blues heritage through the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame program. We celebrate blues performance by promoting numerous concerts throughout the year including the Winter Blues Fest and the Iowa Blues Challenge. We strive to educate and ensure the future of the blues through Blues in the Schools.

Central Iowa Blues Society received The Blues Foundation’s Keeping the Blues Alive Award in 2016. Each year, The Blues Foundation presents the Keeping the Blues Alive (KBA) Awards to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Blues around the world.
