7/7/13 UPDATE… Congrats to the The Rock Island Rollers! They will be representing Iowa in the International Blues Challenge again in 2014! Make plans now to head to Memphis with us next January to see this great showcase of talent from all over the world!

The Central Iowa Blues Society will hold its 1st annual Membership Picnic on Sunday July 28th in Des Moines Water Works Park. This family friendly event is open to CIBS members and their families. The picnic will run from 12:30 thru 6pm with food served at 1:30. Live music by Rob Lumbard…

Lizard Creek Blues Society of North Central Iowa presents Blues Under the Trees 2013 on July 27. This year’s festival features Joe & Vicki Price, Sena Ehrhrdt, The Chris O’Leary Band, Hadden Sayers and Rick Estrin & the Nightcats.

The Central Iowa Blues Society sponsored the band, Hot Tamale & the Red Hots, to kick-off the annual Autism Walk on Saturday, June 8th at Iowa Cubs Stadium/Principal Park. The team this year was called Will’s Fighters. UPDATE… some nice thank you notes!
